INSPIRED BY NATURE: 2011

Here we are, allready a few months working on the FREE SPIRIT
in Zeke's Pinoy Boatyard, between Danao City and Carmen on Cebu Island, in the Philippines

Kalo is always working very hard and does everything by himself, I try to help him as much as I can but it's defenately a boy's hobby..

Kalo joins the Filipino workers at the yard,
just to give them a hand, and this time to help moving this power boat.

Most of the workers, are good friends, "amigos"
they are working very hard and are nice people, unfortunately their job in the boatyard involves them working in a very toxic environment without having the necessary safety equipment.

We probably need two or three more months before finshing all the repairings and modifications
on our home, the Free Spirit.

Kalo is always helping, no matter what!

Filipino love this little fish,
They use to go fishing all night for them
and come back in the early morning to sale at the market.
you can eat them raw just like this,
or fried in the pan..

It is very popular here in the Philippines
to eat out side, every where you can find
someone cooking all day
and always a table where
you can seat and eat the local food.

You can buy this fish for very cheap in the market

The people living in a small island are always more lucky
than the people living in the city "in a bigger island"

Life is more quiet and clean from pollution

People work on the garden and live with a little needs

Life is very peacefull and joyable

The women, spend the day on washing clothes and cleanning the little house
and the other time focus on them many childrens

The man,
spend most of the time try to catch fish or dive for seafood

They collect the green coconut "buko"
While they try to sale in the market or to the tourist for a little money

Man, women and kid are working together as family

Most of the Filipino don't have car, it's to expensive
so many trycicle are always on the street waitting for people
the ride are very cheap, 7 peso ( 0,16 USD- 0,12 euro )

We always spend some time to look around and meet people

In the end of the day at the marina (yard)
yachties meet together and have a beer in the very nice wooden Zeke's bar

When we are going to the city we use a jeepene,
a little track, very cheap transportation, always full
but some times if you are lucky it will be empty!

We are looking for some pieces for the boat,
sometimes we spend all day around the city to find the right place

After work or for a special occasion ,like a birthday,
the boys are together, drinking and singing..

We spend our life time betewen the work on the yard
and try to find some boat part in the city

Most of the people eat in the street,
we can find food everywhere, for a very cheap price too
the comon dish is rice, mixt vegetable, rost chiken or rost pork
